A lot of antique Civil War era American banknotes. 2 Dollars bill, Fifth Series, T–54, with Judah P. Benjamin on the obverse. 5 Dollars bill, Fifth Series, T–53, the obverse depicts Virginia State Capitol and C.G. Memminger. 10 Dollars bill, Seventh Series, T-68, the obverse depicts horses pulling a cannon and Robert M.T. Hunter. 20 Dollars bill, Seventh Series, T-67, with Tennessee State Capitol and Alexander H. Stephens on the obverse. 100 Dollars bill, Third Series, T-13, the obverse features a standing sailor and slaves loading cotton, issued by Hoyer and Ludwig, Richmond, VA. All other banknotes were issued by Keatinge and Ball, Columbia, SC. The Confederate States dollar was first issued just before the outbreak of the American Civil War by the newly formed Confederacy. It was not backed by hard assets, but simply by a promise to pay the bearer after the war, on the prospect of Southern victory and independence.
