The front side is marked Vkhutemas in the upper right, signed by the artist and titled Scenic Architectonics no. 9 in pencil. The backside is also signed by the artist and titled Scenic Architectonics no. 10. Vkhutemas was the Russian state art and technical school active from 1920 to 1930, a center for three major movements in avant garde art and architecture: constructivism, rationalism, and suprematism.
