A fine antique Tibet silver beaded necklace with a Gau silver prayer box and glass and turquoise trade beads. The Gau box is adorned with beautiful silver filigree work and set with turquoise stones. Gau are small prayer boxes that were used when Tibetans traveled and wanted to carry Buddhist prayers and relics with them. Unmarked. Circa the late 19th century.
