A highly decorative antique Japanese Meiji era brass plate. The exterior of the plate is adorned with a polychrome image depicting two cranes on the bank of a stream surrounded by blooming flowers and bamboo stalks on a turquoise ground made in the Cloisonne technique. The border is decorated with stylized floral motifs. The backside is decorated with a swirl ornament made in the Cloisonne technique. Features a hanging mechanism on the backside. Unmarked.
