A Russian Orthodox icon titled after the hymn written by Saint John Damascene All Creation Rejoices In Thee. Hand painted with egg tempera, gesso and levkas on the wood board. In the center is the Mother of God, seated, with the Christ child on her lap. Around her are the angels whilst below a multitude of the righteous. Saint John Damascene who is shown in the icon holding a scroll and close to the right of the Mother of God. Circa the mid late 20th century.
