An antique Japanese Meiji Era lidded tripod enamel brass censer koro. Circa: late 19th century to early 20th century. The sphere form jar is enameled with images of insects, Yin Yang medallions, swirl and abstract motifs made in the Cloisonne technique on a black ground. The base is decorated with a cloud pattern. The lid features polychrome floral, geometrical and foliage ornaments made in the Cloisonne technique. Mounted on three legs. The censer is adorned with a technique of using metal powders to give a glitter effect to the enamel. Unmarked.
