A Russian Orthodox travel icon of Saint Maria, Holy Mary the Martyr. A mixed media painting: egg tempera, gesso, and levkas on a wooden board. The icon is overlaid with a gilt Silver oklad or riza, adorned with repousse scrollwork, foliage, and floral decor patterns, and covered with enamel in cobalt blue and green shades.
