Joseph Horlor, English, British, 1809 to 1887, oil painting on board depicting a rural landscape. Signed lower left. Framed. Joseph Horlor is known for Landscape and marine painting. Joseph Horlor was born in Bath in 1809 and was a landscape painter of Welsh scenes and coastal views. He exhibited thirteen paintings at the British Institution and eleven at Suffolk Street between 1834 and 1866. There are eight of his paintings in the National Collection, three at Bristol Museum, two at National Trust properties, a at Shipley Art Gallery, one at the Victoria Art Gallery in Bath and one at the Holbourne Museum. One of a kind artwork.
