An antique early 20th-century Imperial Russian gilt silver vanity case. Ca. 1910s to 1920s. A rectangular box with two compartments, each with its own hinged lid and diamond-set thumb-piece. The bottom and the sides have a chased tortoise pattern. The lids are garnished with white guilloche enamel. Hallmark of 88 silver standard and makers mark IB, 925 and London import mark. Weight: 119 grams. IB stands for Ivan Britsyn, 1870 to 1952, a Russian jeweler. Ca. 1910s. Provenance: Shapiro Auctions, Oct 16, 2022. An identical object was sold at Doyle, 19CN03, lot 169.
