A miniature Imperial Russian kovsh, a traditional oval-shaped drinking vessel or ladle with a single handle. The item has a rounded body with pronounced front made of clear rock crystal. The handle is made of a 1756 gold ruble coin. The red enameled obverse of the coin depicts Elisabeth Petrovna, Empress of Russia from 1741 to 1761. The hallmark of 56 gold standard and makers mark AT are on the base of the handle, possibly for Alfred Tileman who was one of the best Faberge jewelers and worked in a workshop in St. Petersburg from 1870-1909.
