An Imperial Russian gilt silver cigarette case with hinged lid. The piece is covered with red guilloche enamel. The front lid has a crown-shaped overlay. The clasp and the overlay are garnished with sapphire cabochons. The hallmark of 88 silver standard, assay mark, and the Cyrillic makers mark, I.B, are on the inner side of the lid. I.B stands for Ivan Britsyn, 1870 to 1952, a Russian jeweler. Ca. 1910s. Weight: 109 grams. Provenance: Shapiro Auctions, Oct 16, 2022.
