Julius Yulevich Von Klever, Russian, 1850 to 1924, oil painting on canvas depicting a rural winter landscape, 1916. Signed and dated lower right. Framed. Julius Klever is known for Landscape, snow scene, religious painting, romanticism, luminism. He attended the Academy of Arts in St. Petersburg in 1867, where he studied under Worobjoff and Mikhail K. Klodt. Awarded with multiple medals, he soon acquired a considerable reputation. He was a founding member of the Society of Exhibitions of Works of Art 1874 and was an Academician 1878 and professor 1881. He organised the Russian sections at the Exposition Universelle in Antwerp 1885 and the Jubilaums Ausstellung der Koniglichen Akademie der Kunste in Berlin, 1886, gold medal. He painted romantic landscapes in Estonia and the Gulf of Finland, 1875 to 1900, and taught at the School of Drawing of the Society for the Encouragement of the Arts. 1902. One of a kind artwork.
