A cast bronze sculpture by Albert Moritz Wolff, German, Russian, 1854 to 1923. The artwork represents a cossack with a rifle on horseback. Signed and dated 1905 on the base. The figurine is mounted on a gilt pedestal. Note: Albert Moritz Wolff, born in Berlin, studied at the Academy of Arts in the city. In 1881 he debuted at an exhibition in the academy with a bust of the preacher Nessler. Monument sculptures and medals, but most of all genre sculptures, produced by small foundries, such as Gladenbeck Berlin and WMF Geislingen, are present in his Oeuvre. The artist was presumably also active in Russia, as some of his typical motifs are signed in Cyrillic. Antique Decor And Art Collectibles, Equestrian Sculpture.
