Rudolf Krivos, Slovakian, Czech, 1933 to 2020, mixed media painting on board, Aura VI, 2009. Signed and dated lower left. Framed. Additionally signed, titled, dated, and inscribed, on the backside. Rudolf Krivos is a Slovakian artist. In the years 1951 to 1956, he completed his studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Bratislava at the Department of Figurative Painting under Professor Jan Mudroch. He won the School Award for his academic results and diploma thesis In the Winery, 1956. In the same year, he was accepted as a member of the Union of Slovak Visual Artists. In self portraits, the unity of the constructive principle of the composition of shapes and the process of abstraction informed by synthetic cubism were manifested. In the early 1960s, following the work of Dubuffet, he investigated the load-bearing capacity of non-traditional materials. The paintings were given their own spatiality by the relief modeling of the plaster base in the underpainting. The shapes of expressively deformed figures are modeled from a grainy structure. One of a kind artwork.
