A Russian Imperial officer badge of the Orenburg Cossack Host which was a part of the Cossack population in pre revolutionary Russia, located in the Orenburg province. Features a gilt silver coat of arms of the Orenburg province framed with a blue enamel tape with 1574 below. The coat of arms is topped with a cossack cap. The Orenburg Cossack Host was established 1755, although the age of the host was counted from 1574, when Cossacks founded the Ufa fort. Hallmarked with the 84 silver proof mark. Holds a screw back.
