A set of seven antique ceramic plates of various sizes and shapes, made by Allertons Ltd., in Longton, Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire, England. Decorated with an intricate blue and white Chinese transfer pattern depicting a flower-bedecked landscape featuring curly-roofed pagodas, bridges and robed figures. Each plate is marked verso. Dated before 1912 according to the mark type. Note: Charles Allerton and Sons was founded at Longton, Staffordshire in 1859 by Charles Allerton and was continued after his death in 1863 by his four sons. The company continued manufacturing until 1942. Although it was taken over in 1912 by Cauldon Potteries Ltd. the Allerton brand continued after this under the company name of Allertons Ltd.
