A fantastic antique Doulton Burslem English porcelain plate featuring a cobalt blue border decorated with gilt foliage design surrounding the central part in textured cream painted with flow blue cherry blossom decoration. The base of the plate carries the Doulton Burslem marks for 1886-1891 along with the US Patent No 31L.002 and the additional mark B476. Note: Royal Doulton is an English ceramic and home accessories manufacturer that was founded in 1815. Operating originally in Vauxhall, London, and later moving to Lambeth, in 1882 it opened a factory in Burslem, Stoke-on-Trent, in the center of English pottery.
