A black and white portrait photograph of the SS concentration camp Bergen-Belsen guard, Ilse Forster. Photo taken on August 8, 1945 by Sgt. John Silverside. Inscription on the backside: Case 0766234, Transcript Nur-CL6879. International Military Tribunal Nuremberg label on the backside. Ilse Forster, born 1922, a German SS supervisor in factories and concentraion camps, was sentenced to 10 years of prison for abusing and beating prisoners during the First Belsen trial in September 1945. She was released on December 21, 1951. Her further fate is unknown. Bergen-Belsen was a Nazi concentration camp in Lower Saxony, northern Germany.
