Theo Matejko, Austrian, 1893 to 1946, a WWII Nazi German Third Reich lithographic poster on paper depicting an invasion scene with soldiers, 1943. Titled in German, Through the Fox Tube to the Enemy, upper to the center. Signed and dated in the print lower right. Marked in the print, D. R. ofs. dr. 67 g. 1943, lower left.T heo Matejko was an Austrian illustrator. He served in World War I and covered racing car events. In October 1928, with Ludwig Dettmann, he was invited on the first transatlantic flight of the airship Graf Zeppelin, where he made an artistic record of the voyage. He was involved in the design work for the posters for the 1936 Olympics. He worked on Die Wehrmacht magazine during World War II; at the beginning of the war, he published a series of drawings depicting the horrors of the indiscriminate bombing on civilians.
