The tips of the richly decorated handles are engraved with initials and leopards. The knife blades are covered with engraved floral ornaments. British lozenge mark on the handles: I class, January 8, 1845, parcel 2. Sterling marks on the handles: Birmingham assay mark, lion passant guardant, souvereign head, letter W for the year 1845, JG for John Gilbert and Co. Silverplate marks on the knife blades: JM, arrow, G, PS for plated silver. Total Weight for all pieces: 2217 grams. The set comes in original wooden box.
