An antique 19th-century Russian Orthodox icon of St. Stephen of Perm, a 14th-century painter and missionary venerated by both the Catholic and Orthodox Churches. Travel icon of miniature size. Mixed media painting: egg tempera, gesso, and levkas on a wood board. Gilt silver riza or oklad with repousse and engraved decor. Hallmark of 84 silver standard and makers marks are on the side of the riza. The backside of the icon is covered with red velvet. Russian Christian Religious Items and Collectibles.
