An antique 19th-century Russian Orthodox icon of Saint Alexander of Jerusalem, a 3rd-century Christian bishop and martyr. Travel icon of miniature size. Mixed media painting: egg tempera, gesso, and levkas on a wood board. Gilt silver riza or oklad with repousse decor. Hallmark of 84 silver standard and makers marks are on the halo of the saint.
