An antique mid-19th century English sterling silver pocket watch. A double hunter case type. The case rims are decorated with fine engraved floral ornaments. The covers have guilloche design, the rear cover is engraved with initials ARC. White clock face with Roman numerals and Arabic second numbering, sub-dial. Inner side of the covers is engraved with names of the previous owners: Angel F. Carranza 1826, Adolpho E. Carranza 1846, Angel G. Carranza Marmol 1861, Raul A. Carranza 1919, Raul Carranza 1930, Raul M. Carranza 1946. Newcastle assay mark, lion passant guardant or Britannia, letter B for the year 1825, letter E for the year 1853, TH and Co. hallmark are on the inner side of both covers. Weight: 192 grams. Carranza is an honorable Argentinean family which representative was Adolfo Carranza, 1857 to 1914, public official and historian who established the National Historical Museum in Buenos Aires.
