The obverse features the portrait of Mozaffar ad-Din shah with an Arab lettering translated as: Sultan Mozaffer ad-Din Shah Qajar, Shah of Persia, 1324. Five thousand Dinar. The reverse features the image of sun and lion holding a sword left in center with a crown over the top and 5000 dinars in letters within the wreath.
