William Aiken Walker, American, 1838 to 1921, graphite painting on paper depicting a genre deer hunting scene. Signed lower left. Circa: late 19th century to early 20th century. Framed. William Walker is known for Cotton kingdom genre and landscape painting, trompe loeil. A genre painter, William Aiken Walker, is primarily known for his expressions of plantations, cotton fields, African Americans, and dock scenes. He also documented the American Civil War era during his service in the Confederate Army. One of a kind artwork.
