An antique Chinese Ming Dynasty gilt bronze figure of seated Siddhartha Gautama Buddha in meditation. The figure is adorned with engraved detailed patterns and gold patinated. The figure is finely cast with eyes downcast in meditative expression, seated in dhyanasana with the right hand reaching down towards the ground in bhumisparsa mudra, the left hand held gently in the lap in dhyana mudra, dressed in long flowing robes detailed with draping folds and incised floral hems, loosely open at the bare chest marked with a xinyin at the center. The figure is completed with a figural stand made in a shape of a lotus flower with engraved foliage motifs. Unmarked.
