An antique Japanese late Meiji period Satsuma pottery ewer with a long neck, hand painted to either side with a large panel containing scenes of numerous figures, at various pursuits, in garden settings, within a multicolored floral ground. A large scroll handle and spout are gilt with further stylised floral motif, upon a black ground. Marked underneath. Circa the early 20th century.
