The obverse features the bust of Theodosius facing, helmeted, cuirassed, holding spear with right hand over right shoulder and on left shoulder a shield decorated with a horseman riding down enemy. The reverse shows Constantinopolis helmeted, enthroned facing, head right, holding scepter with right hand and with left hand turned upwards a small winged Victory on globe itself holding wreath in right hand, right foot on prow left; in left field, a star.
