41 reviews

Valerio Adami, Italian, born 1935, color lithograph on paper, Heart and Rainbow. Circa: 1970 to 1980. Signed in pencil lower right. Numbered 13 of 200 in pencil lower left. Valerio Adami is an Italian Postwar and Contemporary painter who was born in 1935. Valerio Adami is a Contemporary Italian artist who has been living and working in France for a long time. One of the largest Italian representatives of Pop Art. His work is currently being shown at multiple venues like Museo Italo Americano in San Francisco. Valerio Adami is an important European artist, who first came to international prominence in the 1960s with Nouvelle Figuration, the French intellectual version of Pop art. Adamis work is steeped in political, social and moral mythologies. Adamis images embrace themes that have preoccupied the artist for more than 50 years: literature, travels, poetry, music, politics and painting. After more than half a century of working creatively, Adami has evolved his own iconography, an ingenious pictorial language that embraces both past and present, in which strange creatures keep company with famous faces from history: the French Revolutionary politician Robespierre, the author James Joyce and the composer Gustav Mahler. His famous pop art colors and flat forms with their thick black contours evoke the appearance of cartoons. European Graphic Art Prints and Collectibles.
