A painted alabaster sculpture by Roman Verhovskoy, 1881 to 1968, a Russian emigre architect and sculptor. The artwork represents a study of Laocoon, an Ancient Roman mythological sculpture. The figure is signed by the artist and dated 1931 on the side. After the revolution, Verhovskoy left for Serbia and then in 1937 settled in the US. Collectible Neoclassical Sculpture And Decor.
