A fine Art Nouveau porcelain figurine The woman with the ball designed by Walter Schott, German, 1861 to 1938. The sculpture depicts a young barefooted woman in a forward-inclined posture wearing a green robe with exposed right breast, in her right arm she holds a golden ball, while her left hand is hidden behind the back. Designed in 1897, manufactured by the Meissen porcelain factory before 1924, the surface is neatly polychrome hand painted and accented with gilding. Marked on the underside with underglaze blue crossed swords mark and impressed model number Q 180, 94. Note: Vienna Porcelain Manufactory, a porcelain manufacturer in Alsergrund in Vienna, Austria. It was founded in 1718 and continued until 1864. The firm was Europes second-oldest porcelain factory after Meissen Porcelain. Initially, it was a private enterprise, founded by Claude du Paquier, an official of the Viennese Imperial court, but in 1744 it was bought by Empress Maria Theresa, and thereafter remained an asset of the emperors.
