An antique Japanese Meiji Period copper Yatate or travel writing set. A hexagonal shaped ink pot with an attached hollow brush tube and a hinged lid having raised dragon, fish, and foo dog decorations. The exterior of the pot is adorned with raised animals, mythical creatures, and figural decorations and a genre scene with an elder and a child. The background is decorated with traditional ornaments. Mounted on four curved legs. Circa: late 19th century.
