A limited edition English British porcelain Imperial Plate of Persia by Spode, with the approval of His Imperial Majesty Mohammad Reza Pahlavi Aryamehr Shahanshah of Iran. This plate has been produced in 1971 in a Limited Edition of 10000 to Commemorate 2500 Years of Persian Monarchy. The plate is designed by Harold Holdway, with the polychrome image of the coat of arms of the Pahlavi Dynasty showing Persian lions, a shield, and the Pahlavi crown, and inspired by the Achaemenian design. The borders are adorned with gilded and enameled floral and geometrical motifs on turquoise ground. Marked and in Persian and English, on the backside. Presented in an original box, marked inside and on a lid. Completed with an original brochure and newspaper clippings from New York Times, 1972.
