A WWI Imperial German artillery officer presentation sword featuring an etched slightly curved blade with the inscription In Treue Fest in German for Steadfast in Loyalty, the motto of the Kingdom of Bavaria, 1805 to 1918, and of its Wittelsbach rulers. Has a heavy gilt brass hilt of a P stirrup type, the grips are bound with gilt brass wire. The ricasso has the trademark of a knights head.
