An antique 19th-century French enameled gilt bronze wall plaque. The hand-painted enamel part has a right angled quatrefoil shape. The piece depicts the position of Christ in the tomb, a scene from the Stations of the Cross, also known as Via Dolorosa or Via Crucis, a series of images depicting Jesus Christ on the day of his crucifixion.
