A large high quality antique Japanese Meiji era decorative brass plate. The exterior of the plate is adorned with a polychrome image of a crane surrounded by blossoming flowers, bamboo trees, and plants on a turquoise ground made in the Cloisonne technique. The plate is inlaid with a Goldstone. The border features foliage and floral motifs. The backside is decorated with a swirl ornament made in the Cloisonne technique.
