An antique 18th-century Russian Orthodox icon of Virgin Mary the Healer. Mixed media painting: egg tempera, gesso, and levkas on a wood board with kovcheg, gilt background. Titled in Church Slavonic on the upper part. The iconography of this icon is taken from the apocrypha, according to which the Mother of God appeared to a dying young cleric in a dream and healed him.
