An antique 18th-century Russian Orthodox icon depicting the Virgin Mary with Arma Christi, Instruments of the Passion, and the crucified Christ in the background. Mixed media painting: egg tempera, gesso, and levkas on a wood board. Titled Lamentation of the Holy Virgin in Church Slavonic in the upper part and on the backside. Saints of the Orthodox Church are depicted along the edges of the icon. The characters and the instruments are named in Church Slavonic. Russian Religious Items and Antique Collectibles.
