A mid 20th-century Balinese polychrome hand-carved wooden sculpture of a winged lion, also known as Singa Bersayap. Fine detail work. In Balinese mythology, the lion is the king of the forest, a protector from evil. Singa is usually used as an architectural decoration of churches or as a part of the house temple.
