Oil on canvas painting depicting a portrait of a French Imperial officer with the Royal Order of the Legion of Honour against the landscape background. Early 19th-century. Presumably, the portrayed is Baron Charles-Joseph Christiani, 1772 to 1840, a French Army general. The artwork is painted after an 1801 portrait of Napoleon Bonaparte by Andrea Appiani, 1754 to 1817, an Italian Neoclassical artist. Golden frame.
