A fine miniature Ginbari cloisonne enamel brass vase, Meiji period, 1868 to 1912. Decorated with an image of green bamboo stem on a light turquoise to pale blue gradient ground. Unmarked. Note: Ginbari foil is an ancient enamel technique developed by Japanese artists. It is also the name of the thicker silver foil used to make one of a kind or repeated design motifs in silver.
