A highly collectible pair of silver-gilt and enamel salt and pepper shakers or besamim boxes cast and decorated as the towers of the Moscow Kremlin covered with turquoise and purple enamel, 1896-1908. Features a maker's mark ''AK'' probably for Antip Ivanovich Kuzmichev, Moscow, 1856-1897, monogrammed ''PLA'' to the round base, an 84 silver standard next to a female head in a kokoshnik turned to the left. Total weight: 160 g.
