A color print of a painting by Robert Atkinson Fox titled Indian Summer depicting a scene with a man and his sheep wandering down a beaten path lined with old trees and a body of water in the distance. Circa the 1920s. Framed. Robert Atkinson Fox, an American Canadian illustrator and naturalist painter, born in 1860, best known for his paintings of rural subjects, especially cattle in pastures. Studied portraiture under John Wesley Bridgman. Fox was commissioned by calendar companies and print publishers to make work for posters, postcards, and advertisements.
