An antique 18th-century Russian Orthodox icon, Mother of God with Christ Child in the Burning bush iconography. Mixed media painting: egg tempera, gesso, and levkas on a wood board. The central image of Virgin Mary and Jesus is enclosed in an eight-pointed star formed by two quadrangles in blue and red. Symbols of the four evangelists are depicted in the red stars corners.
