A fine and rare Russian biscuit porcelain group figurine, Gardner Factory, Verbilki, 1870-1890s. The group depicts a drunken peasant man wearing one shoe, overcoat and top hat, holding a bottle, beside him a woman holding a young child in white dress and then mans other shoe. Raised on a circular ground modeled base. The composition is highly detailed and neatly hand painted. Bearing a red underglaze Gardner factory mark to the underside. The famous Gardner factory was considered the best porcelain enterprise of the Russian Empire.
