An ancient Babylon red carnelian oval shaped intaglio with a flat reverse. The intaglio is engraved with the depiction of a central figure in a ritual dance dedicated to the rite of sacrifice. The space surrounding the figure has been filled with carved religious and cultic symbols. The intaglio is originally intended to be mounted on a ring and used as a seal. Circa the 1st millennium BC.
