The inkwell is made in a ribbed cut glass design. Marked with a standard Silver hallmark and the makers mark GK for Gustav Klingert. Klingert Gustav Gustavovich, 1836-1921, was a Moscow merchant, manufacturer, homeowner, founded a silverware factory in 1865. The factory produced silverware and carried out special orders, including the production of coronation dishes; its products were awarded medals at international exhibitions in London and Edinburgh, 1886, Paris, 1889, 1890, Chicago, 1893, Antwerp, 1894.
