An antique Art Nouveau cameo glass vase of drop shape by Emile Galle. The red and yellow vase is decorated with flowers and leaves. Marked Galle in a cameo on the backside. Emile Galle, from 1846 to 1904, was a French designer who is considered to be one of the major innovators in the French Art Nouveau movement. He often used the cameo glass technique, when a glass of two color layers is carved with a diamond saw or etched with acid, so that the color of the layer underneath becomes visible.
