Aristide Onesime Croisy, French, 1840 to 1899, medium brown patinated bronze sculpture depicting a soldier with a rifle. Mounted on a figural base. Signed, A. Croisy, on the base. Marked with impressed marks on the base. Aristide Onesime Croisy is a French sculptor known for Military and Family genres. Croisy, close to General Chanzy by their common Ardennes origins, sculpts the figure of the latter on many occasions: in Buzancy, the generals residence, he is represented three times, at the foot of the town hall square, lying in the funeral chapel of his former residence, which is now the Chanzy College, and a bust, in the cemetery.
