A fine pair of Meiji era Japanese vases, cast of metal, possibly brass, with a baluster shaped body and wide short neck. Rims on the top and bottom are silver plated. The surface is decorated with a pictorious scene depicting two birds sitting on a branch of Japanese maple and two blue flowers growing at the base of a tree on a glossy white ground. Unmarked.
